Skip chrome, go to the hex tray
Tungsten Bay Billings, Montana

Questions we actually hear

Not a brochure. The arguments that show up at the glass.

Can you put tungsten in a head that has no factory sockets?

No. We do not drill. A blade, a muscle-back, a wedge without a hex — those leave Suite 2 the way they arrived. Hidden mill work is a different craft and a different door.

How tight is too tight on a 2-gram hex?

Feel is how plugs walk. Miles clicks to the number on the sheet, usually in the low inch-pounds for small tungsten and a touch more for a 10 or 12. Cranking until the hex rounds is how you buy a new head for a stupid reason.

Does dry high-plains air change how a 6 g toe plug behaves?

The plug does not change. The ball’s hang time does. At 3,124 feet with dry air the ball stays up long enough for a small CG walk to show as curvature you would not see on a humid river range. That is why Nora talks about June rims and January mats as two different sheets.

Why will you not port my wedges?

Because they do not have factory hexes, and we will not invent them. Bounce, grind, and loft on a scoring club are not this bench. Read the wedges page if you want the longer version.

Do you keep the original screws?

You do. They go in a labeled envelope with the date and the grams we weighed, not the grams the catalog printed. If you want to go back to stock, the envelope is the way.

What if my driver already has a sliding track?

We treat the slider as a back socket with extra travel. It still gets a gram log and a click. We will not ignore the heel and toe hexes just because the track looks more expensive in a photo.

Can I bring a bag of aftermarket screws I bought online?

Yes. Bring them. We will check the thread and the actual mass. Plenty of “4 g” internet hexes are neither 4 nor a match for the socket. The ones that fail stay in your glovebox, not in your gamer.

Why open at eight instead of nine?

Ranch and plant shifts. A ten o’clock golf clock pretends Yellowstone County lives like a suburb. We would rather click a tray at 8:10 than watch a good hour die in the parking lot.

Is this a lesson?

No. If the miss is a motion problem, we will say so and stop turning screws. The lesson-or-port page is the longer boundary line.
